Strawberry Rhubarb Mint Sorbet

Dating somebody who can’t have lactose is hard when you eat a lot of cheese. But I don’t drink regular milk anyways but to stay away from cheese is really hard. So for his birthday I decided to do something special for him and that is to make a sorbet. I LOVE making ice cream and I love coming up with different flavors. This is my first time making sorbet but I’m sure it’ll be amazing good and tasty.

Requires ice cream maker

Ingredients: 1 cup sugar, 2 cups water, 3 stalks rhubarb (sliced), 1 Lb strawberries (sliced), 4 sprigs of Mint, 2 cup orange juice

In a sauce pan combine the sugar, water, mint, and rhubarb and bring to a boil until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Slice strawberries and put into the blender. Add the mint sugar rhubarb mix and blend until creamy.

Let cool and place in the fridge for at least 1 hour or until completely cold. (Sorbet and ice cream will freeze faster if you have a cold starter).

Freeze the ice cream maker container and take it out right before you freeze everything together.

Place everything in the ice cream maker and mix for about 15 minutes. Place in a freezable container and freeze for 3 hours.

After everything is made this dessert tasted really good! My boyfriend loved it!
