Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

So I always make a cake at least once a month and it’s usually Red Velvet, but I decided to go with a Cheesecake this time. And of course you gotta have chocolate with it, so I thought I would make a Chocolate Chip Cheesecake.

Ingredients:

Filling:4 (8oz) bar’s of cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, 2 Tbsp vanilla, 3 eggs, 2 cup white chocolate chips, 2 cups milk chocolate chips.

Crust: 2 Tbsp melted butter, 2 cups graham cracker crumbs

In a bowl combine the cream cheese, vanilla, sugar and eggs and beat until smooth then mix in the chips.

In a spring form pan mix the melted butter and graham cracker crumbs and then spread the crumbs with you fingers across the bottom of the pan and press down to make a crust.  Then add the filling into the crust.

Heat the oven  to 400 degrees and cook the cake for about 15 minutes and then lower them temp to 350 and cook the cake for another hour or until the top is golden brown.

History: Cheesecake actually originated in Greece. The recipe was basic: pound the cheese until it is smooth and pasty, mix the pounded cheese in a brass pan with honey and spring wheat flour, heat the cheese cake. It wasn’t until the 18th century that cream cheese was added to the recipe.
